If you want to make progress, plan like you mean progress. For many years, I bought in the hustle mentality. I forced myself to believe that hustle is everything. If I didn’t have 13 things packed into my calendar or to-do list, I felt guilty. At some point, it stopped being about progress… And started feeling like I didn’t deserve success unless my life felt miserable. Because in hustle culture, no matter the problem, the solution is always “do more”. And sure, there were days when I could more.
But there were also days when “doing more” came at a cost.
After years of internalizing the hustle culture, I realised something: There’s never going to be a “good” day to exit it. Because there’s ALWAYS another goal to chase. So I picked a random day and called it my EXIT day. I decided: Whatever I desire, I will not hustle for it anymore. Yes, putting in the reps matters. But not at the cost of your nervous system. I still wanted to work. I still wanted to earn. I still wanted to hit goals. But without hustling. And I was determined to figure out a way. The very next day, on my audiobook walk, I heard something taht changed everything: “Emotions are like waves, they ebb and flow. And 95% of human life is emotional.” I paused. I knew I had to stop planning against my emotions. And start planning with them. After 107 experiments, I built what I call the Certainty Calendar. This calendar shows you 3 things:
All mapped out 30 days in advance. It’s a decision making tool, based on your emotional weather, not your mental pressure. So now instead of forcing my way through the month… I plan it in alignment with my natural flow. Because just like gravity, you can’t ignore emotional law. But once yo understand it, you can use it to fly. Here’s a snapshot of my own Certainty Calendar:
This system has taught me how to stop fighting myself. And start using my emotions as fuel for goals AND for planning. Understand the emotional terrain you are walking on before trying to speedboat your way through a rocky ground. Divia “Calendar” Dhir |
